This year’s Hastings Half Marathon attracted one of the largest fields in the events 24 year history with 4,803 runners lining up at the start line. Once again Arrow FM was on hand reporting live from the start / finish line as well as from the lead car on the course. There was also plenty of live entertainment at the Arrow FM road show as Andy from Breakfast kept the crowds entertained and ace local musician ‘Norm’ played a selection of hit songs. Back to the race itself and the Kenyans took the double – winning both the men’s and women’s titles. Kiplimo Kimutai was the first through the line with a time of 1.05.24. Magdaline Syombua was the fastest woman with a time of 1.14.20. Daniel Anderson from Cooden was the fastest local runner finishing in eighth place with a time of 1.13.02. Congratulations to everyone who took part in the race and a special well done to all the young runners who took part in the Mini Marathon. Adam Clarke was the fastest young runner.
