Name:   Mike Nicholson

Likes:   Eating out, going to the cinema, reading (once or twice a year when I get time!), socialising with friends, gangsta rap, sleep, all the usual boring stuff.

Dislikes:   Reality TV shows, slow drivers, lorries taking forever to overtake other lorries, traffic jams in general (I do a lot of driving!), rude shop assistants and the inappropriate use (or omission) of apostrophes.

Best Film:   Loads! ‘Goodfellas’, ‘Dawn of the Dead’, ‘Ferris Bueller’s Day Off’ and ‘Ghostbusters’ leap instantly to mind.

Best TV show:   I’m addicted to ‘Lost’ at the moment.

Best TV commercial:  That Carling Black label ad from the late 80s that was three spoof ads stitched together (a Western, a love album ad and a washing powder ad).

Best crisps:  Don’t really eat them much these days, but I always liked salt and vinegar.

Favourite smell:  Bookshops.

When I was a kid I always wanted to be:  At different times, a policeman (in America, so I could have a gun), a stunt-man, a goal-keeper, a novelist, a professional musician and then a print journalist. I just sort of drifted into this radio lark.

Most famous person I’ve ever met:   KT Tunstall... and of course I work with Ed Bretten - beat that!

I couldn’t live without:   Sleep!

The TV character who’s most like me:   Anyone who has blonde spiky hair, according to most people. Quite a long list, including Johnny Bravo and Bart Simpson (!?)!

I’ve never laughed so much as when…   Too many occasions to mention, really, but Ben Elton was on fantastic form at the Grand Opera House earlier this year.

When I’m not on the radio I can be found…   Asleep!

If I was an electrical appliance, I would be...   An electric blanket in an all-female household.

If I had one wish, it would be:   I would wish for an infinite number of wishes.

Me in three words:   Vain, sensitive, workaholic

The runners line up ready for the start.

The 3rd Annual Keith Chandler Memorial Race organized by Hastings Runners took place on Sunday 27th April. The 5 mile race started and finished outside Hastings Town Hall. The winner was Ross Clarke from the Havering and Mayesbrook Club, his time of 25 minutes 43 seconds was a new course record. The first lady home was Gill Wheeler from Hailsham Harriers with a time of 30 minutes 23 seconds. The first wheelchair athlete home was Taylor Leigh from Filsham Wheelers, 23 minutes 10 seconds. Arrow FM’s Andy Knight managed to complete the course in a more leisurely 45 minutes!
