Tony Ricketts

Tony’s a local boy with a golden voice! Every weekday afternoon you can hear Tony broadcasting the news that matters to Hastings and 1066 Country. Here are a few little known facts about Tony…

Tony grew up in St Leonards and attended school and college in Bexhill. Tony’s enjoyed a varied career from a young age! As a child in the 1980’s Tony enjoyed chart success as part of the choir on “San Damiano” by Sal Solo! Tony can claim to have enjoyed a number one hit in Poland (it’s true!) as well as a top 15 hit in the UK. A young Tony Ricketts even heard Bruno Brookes introduce the song on the Radio 1 chart show – how very retro and 80’s! As a teenager Tony played basketball for St Richard’s men’s team.

And onto Tony’s career as a journalist. Prior to joining Arrow FM Tony qualified at the prestigious National Broadcasting School. Following a spell working alongside a number of household names at London’s LBC radio, Tony returned to the south coast and worked as a freelance at several other radio station’s in Sussex. Tony joined Arrow FM in summer 2007 and hasn’t looked back!

Oh, did we mention that Tony has appeared on cult kids TV show Blue Peter? We didn’t? We’ll leave you to ask Tony about that!
