Did you know you can rent DVDs, CDs and also get free use of the computers in the library? Well, you can!

You can also look at a whole catalogue of books on-line and use your library card and pin number to reserve books on-line, renew items and look at what’s on your ticket and view subscription only sites to help with homework. Simply click here > to have a peek!

How do i join
  • It is easy to join the library and it is free.
  • If you come with your parent or carer ask them to bring proof of their address with them e.g. bills or child benefit book for full membership.
  • Ask for a PIN number so you can use library services from your home computer.
  • If you are aged eight or over you can also register to use the internet on your own if your parent or carer signs the consent form.
  • If you are aged eight or over and come on your own you can join as a standard member without proof of address. A letter will be sent to your parent or carer to let them know you have joined the library
  • You will be given your library card which you can use in any East Sussex library.
  • Take care of your card and bring it with you each time you visit.
What can i borrow
  • If you have full membership you can borrow up to 20 books and up to six story tapes at a time for free.
  • You can also borrow up to six DVDs.
  • If you have standard membership you can borrow four books.
  • There is no charge for lost or damaged items if you are under eight.
How long can i keep them
  • Everything you borrow will have a date stamped on it.
  • You should try to bring things back on or before this date.
  • If you want to keep them longer you can phone, email or bring them back to the library and, if no one else is waiting for them library staff will extend the date.

What can i find in the library
  • Please ask the library staff. They will be happy to help.
  • The computer catalogue lists all the items in the library. Ask if you need help to use it.
  • If you can’t find the book you want on the shelves we will try to get it for you and let you know when it is ready to collect. There is no charge for this service. Please ask a member of staff.
