Free course every Wednesday 1pm to 2pm for 10 weeks at The Friends Meeting House in South Terrace (opposite Marks & Spencers). Free sandwiches and hot & cold drinks.
Alpha is organised by local Christian churches as a course for people seeking answers about the big questions of life, such as "Does God Exist?"
Each session starts with a short film covering a different subject and then breaks into small discussion groups. Very informal and the opportunity to explore these matters with others. Everyone is welcome and all questions are encouraged.

1066 Country Fundraisers Cycle Relay

Organised by the Youth Committee, this 10 hour Cycle Relay is taking place at William Parker Sports College from 10am to 8pm. Participants are welcome to camp at the grounds. Teams of five take it in turns to cycle around the sports track. There is no minimum sponsorship. There is also going to be an Easter Egg hunt which is open to the public. The idea behind 1066 Fundraisers was to not only bring the community together, but to also raise money for local charities in a fun and positive way. Money raised will go to Cancer Research, as well as RSPCA Bluebell Cattery and Mallydams Wood, St Michael's Hospice, Demelza House, and the Sara Lee Trust. To take part, you need to be a member of 1066 Fundraisers - membership is £5 for adults, £2.50 for those under 18, under six is free, and family membership is £12. Members can either fundraise for just one of the charities or can have their money split between them. It's a great way to help local charities. Hastings 4 Haiti Arts Fundraiser, St.Mary In The Castle, Hastings. To be opened at midday by MP Michael Foster. Local and national artists, organisations and shops have donated artwork and “promises” for sale and auction. Steve Furst will be hosting the auction at 5pm when the artwork will be auctioned off. Some will be sold for £50 and some to the highest bidder. There’s also a bookstall with a special section of signed first editions by national and local authors. All proceeds to the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC). Anyone wishing to donate work or promises should submit them through the website www.hastings4haiti.og by Monday 22nd March at the latest.
